In May 2012, a photo of butterflies, which shows a massive amount of monarch butterflies clustering together in Mexico covering a tree in a blanket of orange and black, had aroused her interest in butterflies.
Surprising combinations of colours and patterns on butterflies' wings fascinate her and made her extensively pursuit the beauty of butterflies. Butterflies are one of the most beautiful creatures, which sometimes love to hide, sometimes love to stay under a bright sunshine, shooting them is often easier said than done. They can be an interesting subject both for macro and distance shots, depending on their colours and poses. The challenge for her in taking butterflies’ photos was to result in something different; something fresh and alluring; to show how beautiful butterflies can be and to express the tiny creatures in an artistic way and that adds to aesthetic pleasure.
Curiosity and continuous pursuing has driven her to start her journey of exploration, encountering the world’s butterflies through travels to China, Thailand, Malaysia, USA and the UK. Butterflies without borders. In 2017, Evangeline was honored with the Associate of Royal Photographic Society, the UK.
